ROSS stock stroke and stroker 454 blower piston sets include forced pin oilers when applicable and wrist pin retention lock rings. The pistons are pin fit and balanced to plus or minus 2.5 grams throughout the set. Intake and, or exhaust valve pockets are radius machined and designed to handle most common performance camshaft applications. The precision skirt design allows the pistons to work properly under intense combustion heat and tremendous side loads without scuffing or splitting cylinder walls. ROSS big block Chevy pistons listed here are designed for forced induction applications, such as supercharged and turbocharged engines. They have thicker ring lands, larger pin bosses and increased internal radii to withstand the additional cylinder pressure that forced induction engines put out. These forged piston sets are ideal BBC pistons for street and marine applications, as well as drag racing. BBC pistons use pins that are .990 diameter and are 2.930
inches in length. All piston pins included are aircraft quality chrome moly and are retained by double spirolox, or they can be press fit into rods. When using these big block Chevrolet blower pistons in extremely high horsepower applications optional ROSS tapered bore pins part # 990-04-29, are recommended. Lower compression ratio is achieved by utilizing more deck clearance than normal (flat top below deck, larger deck clearance than for a normally aspirated engine). The Ross piston sets listed here can be used in turbo engines and can also be used with nitrous oxide NOS injection.
